WordPress comes with two standard types of content: posts and pages. More types can be added as custom post types, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
A WordPress page is best suited for static content that does NOT have a category or need to seen in chronological order. Examples of pages would be your about me page, your privacy page, and your newsletter sign up page.
Although pages are not placed in categories, they can be hierarchical. For example, your “Our Staff” page can have child pages for each of your employees.
